*the entrace of Cleopatra was by no means a modest one...for her guards and attendants, dressed in eastern cloths, stood out far more than anything any Roman could have hoped to see...and at all times, the figure of the queen was shrouded within the curtains of her carrage*
*when they reached the gates of Caesar's house, the Egyptian queen snapped her fingers and the curtains were drawn aside, her sandaled foot was an image of perfection...and the shape of her sensous form was something like a goddess on earth...her eyes were a violet color...deep and otherworldly*
*Cleopatra smiled up at the palace and looked back at the tiny hand that held hers...the little boy, her son, didn't want to come out of the sheltering safety of the curtains....she whispered a few comforting words...and then the young prince stepped out, hiding behind the queen shyly...he had never seen such a grand place as Rome before...*
*Cleopatra herself too, was over whelmed by the presence Rome had...and she didn't know excatly what was going to happen now...but she was here...and that was all that mattered*

*a set of four guards filed out of the villa...and Calpurnia walked inbetween them and down the short path to the gate....the woman standing there she did not recognize...but was grand indeed!...a queen of a forgien land obviously...maybe this was the Egyptian queen Caesar had placed on the throne...and upon that thought Calpurnia's steps slowed...the gossip she had heard was incriminating...but she wasn't going to believe it...and yet....the young boy hiding behind the woman was...No!, she wasn't going to let her mind believe the gossip of Rome...not yet anyway*
*smiling bravely, the wife of Caesar walked up to the queen and embraced her openly*
Welcome to Rome your majesty...please, come in, I wasn't expecting you...and niether was my husband I think...you must be tired!, so allow me to stop my chatter and show you roman hospitality...
*placing an arm around Cleopatra's shoulders she lead the woman into the palace, ignoring the guards of the queen followed by her own escorted out of sight as the gates closed behind the carriage as it was brought in to be put away until summoned for again*
*the gates closed and guards stood barring the way...all had subsided again and the gawking crowd in the street retuned to their work as before...*
