*a combination of a small study, with books and writing materials, and bed with a wardrobe and a modest trunk for her clothes...Calpurnia's room is not extravagant but elegant and simple, perfect for her needs of living in the palace...*

*Caesar carries a smiling Calpurnia into her room and she stares into his eyes, enjoying everymoment of such closeness with her beloved husband...*

*Caesar laid Calpurnia on the bed, and then sat himself down, kissing her ever chance he got.*

*even as Caesar lay her on her bed and sat beside her she kept her arms around him and returned each of his kisses deeply, thinking of nothing else but him and the need to be close to him...which always was like a realm of heaven to her...*

*Caesar laid next to her, interupted by a frantic knock on the bedroom door. He looked up at the door, angry now.*
"What?!"
*The slave spoke through the doorway.*
"Caesar, your Legions have been assembled on the feild, and await your command."

*with a gasp of surprise, Calpurnia looked at the doorway, the slave's news was something she was hoping would never come at a time like this...but history was in motion and her gallant Caesar was at its center*
*she drew her robe tighter around herself, then embraced Caesar tightly, kissing him...her offering of farewell to him...before, as she knew would happen now, he would leave for Greece...*

*Caesar gave his wife one last kiss.*
"Goodbye, dear Calpurnia..."
*With that he exited the room, and followed the slave.*

Goodbye...Gaius *Calpurnia could not help but let a small stream tears come to her eyes as she listened to Caesar's retreating footsteps...then she lay back on the bed and closed her eyes...trying not to hear the clatter of hooves outside as her husband left for his armies...*

-----------------------------
*Calpurnia, late in the evening of the arrival of the Egyptain queen, at last found a quiet peace in her own room...*
*the roman matron sat down on the bed and sighed, she had taken excellant care of the royal queen and her son....offering them the seaside villa her family had inherited to the Caesar family, as a place for her to stay unbothered by the roman stares and geers of the crowd which was gathering and subsiding outside the Palace...*
*Calpurnia had left a note for Caesar to meet her here when he got home...she would have to tell him about this new arrival....another sigh escaped her and Calpurnia held back the tears....she was begining to believe the stories she had heard of this beautiful woman with an angelic voice of the East and the Roman consul who had loved her in his stay in Egypt...*
*placing a hand on her forhead, Calpurnia regained control of herself...all was well now, the palace was calm again...maybe when Caesar would come, he would help make all things clear...*

*Caesar walked into the room, leaving his lictors at the door. He let out a deep sigh, showing his fatigue. The black under his eyes was clearly visible, and he looked a toll older.*

*as Caesar entered, Calpurnia stood and ehr mind was wrought blank at the sight of him*
Caesar!...*she went to him, folding him in her arms for a moment before the news she had to tell him came into her mind again*
Someone arrived to see you today Giaus...a royal person, she must have just arrived in Rome,....an Egyptain Queen...Cleopatra
*she watched Caaesar's eyes as she waited for his reaction while she explained the day's happenings...*
She arrived at the palace this afternoon. I let her in and took care of her needs...her son was with her, a beautiful child, and he has a love for toy soldiers...he showed me one he had made himself
*Calpurnia had sat down and stared at her palm as if she could see the toy in her hands again*
She is a beautiful woman...very intelligent...even more than me, I must admit,...I offered her the seaside villa, she needs a place in Italy that isn't watched by gawking plebs...
*she looked up smiling* She is there now I hope...

*Caesar nodded, pleased and somewhat nervous now.*
"Excellent, you have respected her. I will send a courier to her tommorrow, as the Senate meets at Pompey's Theater."

Wouldn't-....*Calpurnia didn't know if she should offer this idea...but it might be good for Caesar to talk with her without the Senate around or on his mind...or through a courier...and it would answer..the question eating away at her mind*
Wouldn't you like to go meet her now?...I can have a carraige take you there in no time at all Gauis...

*Caesar looked at her for a minute, considering the idea.*
"I will visit her tommorrow, after the Senate is over. I am much to tired tonight to even consider it."

*the relief Calpurnia felt was almost visible as her shoulder relaxed*
Alright then...*she smiled and stood, running her hands along his shoulders as she stood behind him and helped him out of his toga, the purple border catching the light slightly as she folded it neatly, placing it in a chest to keep it safe*
You seem over tired this night my Caesar...what did the senators debate of this time?
*Calpurnia had a smile of a wife's amusement on her face as she stood behind Caesar again and ran her fingers though his hair and massaging his shoulders slowly to help them loosen...for even she could feel the tense stiffness of fatigue in her husband after todays work with those stubborn senators...*
